Best Seven Build & Guide (2026) — Deadlock
Saturday, March 21, 2026 · 8 min read
Seven is Deadlock's premier AoE teamfight carry. He ramps up spirit damage through the mid game and unleashes devastating Storm Clouds that melt entire teams. Whether you're picking him up for the first time or looking to optimize your ranked build, this guide covers everything you need to dominate with Seven in 2026.
Seven Overview
Seven operates as a spirit-scaling AoE teamfighter who excels at dealing sustained damage to grouped enemies and controlling space with persistent threats. Lightning Ball fires a ball of electricity in a straight line that damages all targets in its radius and slows on hit — excellent for poking and wave clear, Static Charge marks an enemy hero with a delayed shock that stuns and damages them along with nearby enemies after a short duration, Power Surge supercharges your weapon so bullets deal bonus shock damage that bounces to enemies near your target, and his ultimate Storm Cloud channels an expanding electrical storm around Seven that deals massive damage to all enemies in its radius while granting bullet resistance during the channel. He rewards players who position patiently and punish grouped enemies.
Strengths
- Unmatched AoE damage with Storm Cloud capable of wiping entire teams in tight spaces
- Strong lane presence through Lightning Ball poke and Power Surge enhanced trading
- Excellent setup potential with Static Charge stun enabling team follow-up or Storm Cloud channels
- Scales extremely well into the late game as spirit items amplify all of his kit
Weaknesses
- Storm Cloud is interruptible — any hard stun or silence cancels his ultimate and wastes the cooldown
- Immobile during channel — Seven is a sitting duck while Storm Cloud is active
- Reliant on grouping — his kit underperforms when enemies spread out and avoid stacking
- Limited escape tools — without mobility abilities, getting caught out of position is often lethal
Recommended Item Build
Based on data from over 12,000 ranked Seven matches tracked on dodge.gg, here's the highest winrate build path.
Early Game (0–10 min)
- Extra Spirit — Raw spirit power that boosts Lightning Ball and Power Surge damage from level one
- Mystic Burst — Adds spirit damage on hit, making Power Surge auto-attacks hit significantly harder
- Sprint Boots — Crucial positioning tool for setting up Storm Cloud and escaping ganks
- Healing Rite — Sustain between trades so you can stay in lane and hit your mid-game power spike

Mid Game (10–20 min)
- Cold Front — AoE slow and spirit damage that layers with Lightning Ball for stacking zone pressure
- Torment Pulse — Passive spirit damage aura that adds DPS to everything around you during Storm Cloud
- Reactive Barrier — Burst protection for surviving the initial focus fire when you begin channeling
- Bullet Lifesteal — Sustain through Power Surge enhanced autos keeps you healthy between engagements

Late Game (20+ min)
- Boundless Spirit — Massive spirit power spike that turns Storm Cloud into a team-erasing ability
- Unstoppable — Prevents interrupts during Storm Cloud — this single item transforms Seven's teamfight impact
- Escalating Exposure — Stacking spirit amp on enemies caught in your AoE makes sustained fights lethal
- Mystic Reverb — Spirit echoes add enormous bonus damage when layering all your abilities together

Ability Priority
Storm Cloud (Ult) > Lightning Ball > Static Charge > Power Surge
Take Storm Cloud upgrades whenever available — the damage scaling and radius increase per level are game-changing. Max Lightning Ball first for poke damage and wave clear. Static Charge second for the increased stun duration and damage. Power Surge last since the base rank provides enough shock bounce damage for trading.
Playstyle Tips
Early Game (Laning Phase)
Use Lightning Ball to poke the enemy laner and secure last-hits from safe range. Power Surge makes your auto-attacks trade favorably — activate it when the enemy steps up to contest creeps. Play conservatively and focus on farming. Seven's early kill threat is low, but consistent Lightning Ball pressure can zone enemies off souls. Save Static Charge defensively for gank attempts on you.
Mid Game (Rotations)
Seven hits a strong power spike once Cold Front and Torment Pulse come online. Look for skirmishes where enemies group around objectives — Lightning Ball into Storm Cloud on a clumped team is devastating. Use Static Charge to stun a key target before channeling your ult to buy yourself uninterrupted time. Always check for enemy stun cooldowns before committing Storm Cloud.
Late Game (Teamfights)
With Unstoppable, your Storm Cloud becomes nearly impossible to stop. Position on the flank or wait for your frontline to engage before channeling. The ideal combo is Static Charge on a priority target, then immediately Storm Cloud as they're stunned. Lightning Ball through the enemy team for supplemental AoE. With Boundless Spirit and Escalating Exposure, a full-duration Storm Cloud will melt even tanky compositions.
