Best Silver Build & Guide (2026) — Deadlock
Saturday, March 21, 2026 · 9 min read
Silver is Deadlock's only true transformation hero — a shotgun-wielding hunter in human form who unleashes a devastating werewolf through her ultimate, Lycan Curse. Managing two complete ability sets and knowing when to shift between ranged burst and melee lifesteal makes Silver one of the highest-skill-ceiling heroes in the game, but also one of the most rewarding when mastered.
Silver Overview
Silver operates as a dual-form weapon carry who toggles between ranged burst damage and melee bruiser depending on her transformation state. In human form, Slam Fire instantly reloads and empowers her next three shotgun blasts with rapid fire and bonus damage scaling off the target's current health — perfect for chunking full-health enemies. Boot Kick dashes forward with a melee kick that staggers, marks, and then backflips Silver to safety — a hit-and-run trading tool. Entangling Bola throws a projectile that slows by 45% and prevents all movement abilities for 1.5 seconds — locking down fleeing targets. Her ultimate Lycan Curse transforms Silver into werewolf form, granting bonus health, movement speed, and an entirely new ability kit focused on melee lifesteal and crowd control.
In werewolf form, Go For the Throat cleaves enemies in front of her and heals for 40% of damage dealt with bonus scaling against low-health targets — a built-in execute with sustain. Mauling Leap is a gapcloser that shreds bullet resist and applies a spirit bleed. Tail Whack is an AoE disarm and slow that shuts down enemy gun damage for two seconds. The transformation loop — build Bloodlust in human form, shift into werewolf for kills, then reset — defines Silver's entire gameplay pattern.
Strengths
- Two complete ability sets give her unmatched versatility — ranged burst for poke, melee bruiser for all-ins
- Massive lifesteal in werewolf form through Go For the Throat makes her extremely hard to kill during dives
- Excellent on-hit item application due to high fire rate in werewolf form — Toxic Bullets and Slowing Bullets are devastating
- Strong lockdown chain with Bola into Boot Kick into werewolf engage leaving enemies no escape
Weaknesses
- Very weak laning phase — her shotgun has low range and slow fire rate, making early farm and trades awkward
- Dependent on ultimate — without Lycan Curse available, Silver is significantly more fragile and less threatening
- Involuntary transformation risk — Bloodlust can fill and trigger werewolf form at bad times if you're not careful
- High mechanical ceiling — managing eight abilities across two forms while tracking Bloodlust requires strong execution
Recommended Item Build
Based on data from over 10,000 ranked Silver matches tracked on dodge.gg, here's the highest winrate build path.
Early Game (0–10 min)
- Headshot Booster — Compensates for her weak shotgun by adding reliable bonus damage to land shots in lane
- Melee Charge — Directly buffs melee attacks which are core to werewolf form and Boot Kick trades
- Extra Health — Raw survivability so she can survive the weak laning phase and reach her transformation power spike
- Healing Rite — Lane sustain between trades since Silver has no built-in healing in human form

Mid Game (10–20 min)
- Slowing Bullets — On-hit slow that makes it impossible for enemies to escape werewolf form once you engage
- Close Quarters — Bonus damage at melee range synergizes perfectly with werewolf form's close-range kit
- Enduring Speed — Movement speed and spirit lifesteal keep Silver mobile and healthy during extended fights
- Reactive Barrier — Burst protection that activates when you dive in, buying time for Go For the Throat sustain

Late Game (20+ min)
- Toxic Bullets — Silver is one of the best Toxic Bullets carriers in the game thanks to werewolf form's high fire rate
- Shadow Weave — Stealth positioning lets you set up perfect transformation engages on unsuspecting targets
- Leech — Stacks with Go For the Throat's built-in lifesteal for near-unkillable sustain in werewolf form
- Unstoppable — CC immunity prevents enemies from interrupting your transformation dives with stuns

Ability Priority
Silver's ability leveling is unique because upgrades apply to both human and werewolf forms. Here's the optimal order:
- Slam Fire / Go For the Throat — Max first. Slam Fire is your primary trading tool in lane, and Go For the Throat is your main damage and sustain in werewolf form. Both scale heavily with levels.
- Boot Kick / Mauling Leap — Max second. Boot Kick enables safe trades in human form, and Mauling Leap is your gapcloser in werewolf form. The resistance shred on Mauling Leap scales with points.
- Entangling Bola / Tail Whack — Max third. The slow is strong at rank one — you're investing here for duration and cooldown reduction.
- Lycan Curse — Level whenever available. Each point adds transformation health, healing on shift, and fire rate in werewolf form.
Playstyle Tips
Laning Phase (0–10 min)
Silver's laning is her weakest phase. Your shotgun has low range and slow fire rate, so don't try to out-trade most heroes in straight gunfights. Focus on last-hitting from medium range with Slam Fire to secure denies, and use Boot Kick for quick poke-and-retreat trades — the backflip keeps you safe. Save Bola defensively to escape ganks rather than using it aggressively. Your goal is to survive lane and hit level 6 without falling behind. Once Lycan Curse comes online, your kill pressure skyrockets.
Mid Game (10–20 min)
This is where Silver starts dominating. Look for fights where your ultimate is available — never commit to a major engagement without Lycan Curse ready. The ideal combo is: Bola to slow → Boot Kick to close distance and mark → Slam Fire to chunk → transform into werewolf → Mauling Leap onto the target → Go For the Throat to finish. Tail Whack's disarm is devastating in 1v1s — use it the moment the enemy tries to fight back. Roam to lanes where you can catch isolated targets, since Silver excels at picking off solo heroes.
Late Game (20+ min)
In late-game teamfights, you want to flank and transform on the backline. Shadow Weave lets you position invisibly before shifting into werewolf and diving the enemy carries. Tail Whack into the entire team disarms multiple enemies for two seconds — that's enormous. With Leech and Go For the Throat stacking lifesteal, you can sustain through incredible amounts of damage as long as you're hitting targets. Watch your Bloodlust meter carefully — you don't want to transform accidentally before a key fight. If your ultimate is down, play back and farm safely until it's ready.
Matchups
Understanding Silver's matchups helps you know when to pick fights and when to wait for your ultimate.
Favorable
- Haze — Tail Whack disarm completely shuts down Haze's ultimate and gun damage. Bola prevents her from using Smoke Bomb to escape. Silver can dive and delete Haze before she can respond.
- Infernus — Silver's burst in human form can chunk Infernus before he applies his damage-over-time. In werewolf form, Go For the Throat's lifesteal outheals Afterburn, and you can close the gap faster than he can kite.
- Viscous — Viscous lacks the burst to threaten Silver during transformation, and his Goo Ball escape is countered by Bola. Once you're in werewolf form, he can't peel you off effectively.
Even
- Abrams — Both are frontline brawlers who want to dive. The matchup comes down to cooldown management — if Silver catches Abrams without Shoulder Charge, she wins. If Abrams stuns during transformation, he can burst her down.
- Bebop — Bomb can interrupt Silver's dives, but if she dodges or uses Unstoppable, Bebop has no answer to werewolf form. Bola can cancel Bebop's Hook windup if timed correctly.
- Dynamo — Dynamo's Quantum Entanglement can pull Silver out of position, but her Tail Whack disarm disrupts his combo. Both heroes want to teamfight, so it comes down to who engages better.
Unfavorable
- Seven — Storm Cloud zones Silver out of fights entirely. She needs to be in melee range, and Seven's AoE makes that suicidal. Static Charge stun interrupts transformation dives. You need Unstoppable to have any chance of engaging.
- McGinnis — Turrets kite Silver endlessly and she has no efficient way to clear them in either form. McGinnis can wall off Silver's engage paths and maintain distance where Silver can't threaten her.
- Ivy — Ivy's crowd control chain — Stone Form into Air Drop — peels Silver off any target she dives. The root and slow prevent werewolf form from sticking, and Ivy can heal allies through Silver's burst.
