Best Vyper Build & Guide (2026) — Deadlock
Saturday, March 21, 2026 · 8 min read
Vyper is Deadlock's relentless spirit assassin. She stacks poison daggers, slides through fights with unmatched agility, and executes wounded targets with lethal precision. Whether you're picking her up for the first time or looking to optimize your ranked build, this guide covers everything you need to dominate with Vyper in 2026.
Vyper Overview
Vyper operates as a spirit-scaling execute specialist who excels at wearing down targets with stacking damage and finishing them off when they're low. Screwjab Dagger throws a dagger that deals spirit damage and slows — subsequent daggers against the same target stack in damage and slow intensity, making extended trades increasingly one-sided. Lethal Venom injects a target with delayed spirit damage that scales with the target's missing health, turning it into a devastating execute on wounded enemies. Slither passively enhances Vyper's slide distance, lets her slide up hills, improves turn speed while sliding, and grants bonus stamina — giving her exceptional mobility without spending an ability slot. Her ultimate Petrifying Bola throws an explosive bola that slows and damages enemies in an area, with direct hits dealing bonus damage and petrifying the target — completely preventing them from acting while also blocking all incoming damage. She rewards patient players who stack daggers and time their executes perfectly.
Strengths
- Devastating execute damage with Lethal Venom scaling off missing health to finish wounded targets
- Exceptional sustained chase through stacking Screwjab Dagger slows and Slither's enhanced mobility
- Strong teamfight CC with Petrifying Bola locking down priority targets for guaranteed follow-up
- Built-in mobility from Slither means no ability slot is wasted on movement, freeing up her kit for damage
Weaknesses
- Dagger stacking takes time — Vyper needs multiple hits to reach full damage potential, making her weak in short trades
- Petrifying Bola also protects the target — mistiming the petrify can accidentally save enemies from your team's burst
- Lethal Venom requires setup — the execute only works on wounded targets, so she struggles against full-health dives
- Squishy without defensive tools — Slither helps her dodge but she has no shield, heal, or invulnerability in her kit
Recommended Item Build
Based on data from over 9,000 ranked Vyper matches tracked on dodge.gg, here's the highest winrate build path.
Early Game (0–10 min)
- Mystic Burst — Adds spirit damage on hit, stacking with Screwjab Dagger for stronger early trades
- Spirit Strike — Extra spirit burst on melee for finishing off targets after dagger stacking
- Sprint Boots — Complements Slither's mobility for aggressive chasing and safe disengages
- Healing Rite — Lane sustain so you can trade aggressively with daggers and heal back between waves

Mid Game (10–20 min)
- Cold Front — AoE slow and spirit damage that layers with dagger slows for inescapable chases
- Torment Pulse — Passive spirit damage aura that chips enemies down, setting up Lethal Venom executes
- Mystic Vulnerability — Debuffs enemy spirit resist so your full dagger stack and Lethal Venom hit dramatically harder
- Reactive Barrier — Burst protection for when enemies try to focus you during aggressive slide-ins

Late Game (20+ min)
- Boundless Spirit — Massive spirit power spike that amplifies Screwjab Dagger stacks and Lethal Venom execute damage
- Escalating Exposure — Stacking spirit amp on targets you dagger repeatedly turns your sustained damage lethal
- Ethereal Shift — Invulnerability lets you survive burst while your Lethal Venom ticks down to execute range
- Mystic Reverb — Spirit echoes add enormous bonus damage when chaining daggers and abilities together

Ability Priority
Lethal Venom > Screwjab Dagger > Petrifying Bola (Ult) > Slither
Max Lethal Venom first — the execute damage scaling per level is massive and turns every wounded enemy into a guaranteed kill. Screwjab Dagger second for increased stack damage and stronger slows. Take Petrifying Bola upgrades when available for longer petrify duration and larger AoE. Slither last since the base passive mobility is already strong and upgrades are less impactful.
Playstyle Tips
Early Game (Laning Phase)
Focus on stacking Screwjab Daggers on the enemy laner during trades. Each additional dagger on the same target deals more damage and slows harder, so extended trades heavily favor Vyper. Use Slither's enhanced sliding to dodge return fire between dagger throws. Once the enemy is around 40% health, Lethal Venom's missing-health scaling will finish them off. Play for sustained poke rather than all-in bursts.
Mid Game (Rotations)
Vyper's chase potential becomes oppressive with Cold Front and Mystic Vulnerability online. Roam to lanes where enemies are already trading and apply Lethal Venom to wounded targets for easy cleanup kills. In skirmishes, stack daggers on a priority target to slow them into your team's damage, then execute with Lethal Venom. Save Petrifying Bola for high-value targets — but remember it also blocks damage, so use it to set up rather than finish.
Late Game (Teamfights)
Your role is to apply relentless dagger pressure to the enemy backline while looking for execute opportunities. Use Slither to weave in and out of fights, stacking daggers on squishy targets. Petrifying Bola on the enemy carry at the right moment removes them from the fight for your team to reposition. Time Lethal Venom carefully — apply it when a priority target is low enough that the missing-health scaling guarantees the kill. Ethereal Shift gives you a safety net if you overextend during aggressive slide plays.
