Best Renekton Build & Guide (2026) — League of Legends

The definitive Renekton build guide for 2026. Optimal items, runes, ability order, playstyle tips, and matchup advice backed by data from thousands of ranked League of Legends matches.

Renekton is League of Legends' Butcher of the Sands — a fury-fueled bruiser who dominates the early and mid game with devastating empowered abilities, burst trades with Ruthless Predator's stun, sustain from Cull the Meek's healing, gap-closing with Slice and Dice's double dash, and massive teamfight presence with Dominus's bonus health and area-of-effect damage. Renekton is played primarily as a top laner (49.67% win rate on OP.GG Patch 16.06 Emerald+, 50.76% on LoLalytics, 49.14% on U.GG, Tier 2) with a 5.48% pick rate and 4.49% ban rate. Whether you are an aggressive lane bully who wants to snowball the early game with fury-empowered combos, a split-pusher who draws constant pressure with Dominus and Slice and Dice mobility, or a teamfight diver who builds tanky enough to survive the frontline while stunning and shredding priority targets, this guide covers everything you need to dominate with Renekton in 2026.

Renekton Overview

Renekton operates as a bruiser/fighter whose power comes from his unique fury resource system that empowers his basic abilities, strong early-game trading with Cull the Meek's damage and healing, devastating burst from Ruthless Predator's empowered triple strike with shield destruction, mobility from Slice and Dice's double dash, and powerful all-in potential with Dominus's bonus health and sustained magic damage aura. He is played almost exclusively as a top laner (5.48% pick rate, 49.67% win rate on OP.GG Emerald+, 50.76% on LoLalytics) with niche viability as a mid laner into melee matchups. His ban rate is moderate at 4.49%, reflecting his presence as a popular lane bully.

Unlike scaling bruisers like Nasus or Jax who need time to reach their power spikes, Renekton is designed to dominate the early and mid game — his fury system rewards aggressive trading, Cull the Meek provides built-in sustain to win extended lanes, Ruthless Predator's point-and-click stun guarantees trades, and Dominus transforms him into a stat-check monster during all-ins. Renekton's challenge is converting his early-game dominance into a lead large enough to close games before opponents outscale him.

Reign of Anger (Passive) causes Renekton's basic attacks to generate 5 Fury on-hit. After 12 seconds out of combat, Renekton loses 1 Fury every 0.25 seconds. When Renekton is below 50% maximum health, he generates 50% bonus Fury from all sources. At 50 or more Fury, Renekton's next basic ability consumes 50 Fury to cast an empowered version with significantly enhanced effects. This passive is the core of Renekton's trading pattern — managing fury to ensure empowered abilities are available for key trades and all-ins is what separates good Renekton players from great ones.

Cull the Meek (Q) causes Renekton to swing his blade in an area around him, dealing 60/90/120/150/180 (+100% bonus AD) physical damage to all nearby enemies and healing for 2/3/4/5/6 (+2% bonus AD) per non-champion hit and 12/20/28/36/44 (+17% bonus AD) per champion hit, with healing capped at 50/75/100/125/150. Fury-empowered Cull the Meek deals 90/135/180/225/270 (+140% bonus AD) physical damage with tripled healing — 36/60/84/108/132 (+51% bonus AD) per champion hit, capped at 200/300/400/500/600. Cull the Meek generates 2.5 Fury per non-champion hit and 10 Fury per champion hit (capped at 30 per cast). Cull the Meek has a 7-second cooldown. This is Renekton's primary trading and sustain tool — the low cooldown and built-in healing allow him to trade aggressively and heal back any damage taken, and the empowered version's tripled healing makes Renekton deceptively hard to kill in extended fights.

Ruthless Predator (W) empowers Renekton's next basic attack to strike twice, dealing 10/40/70/100/130 (+150% AD) total physical damage and stunning the target for 0.75 seconds. Fury-empowered Ruthless Predator strikes three times instead, dealing 15/60/105/150/195 (+225% AD) total physical damage, stunning for 1.5 seconds, and destroying any shields on the target. Empowered W also extends Renekton's attack range to 175. Ruthless Predator has a 16/14/12/10/8-second cooldown. This is Renekton's key burst and crowd control ability — the point-and-click stun guarantees that trades connect, the empowered version's 1.5-second stun and shield destruction makes it devastating against shield-reliant champions, and the double/triple auto-attack procs on-hit effects multiple times.

Slice and Dice (E) causes Renekton to dash in the target direction, dealing 40/70/100/130/160 (+90% bonus AD) physical damage to enemies he passes through. If Renekton hits at least one enemy, he can recast within 4 seconds to dash again, dealing 80/140/200/260/320 (+180% bonus AD) physical damage on the second cast. Fury-empowered recast deals 70/115/160/205/250 (+135% bonus AD) additional physical damage and reduces the armor of enemies hit by 25/27.5/30/32.5/35% for 4 seconds. Slice and Dice generates 2 Fury per non-champion hit and 10 Fury per champion hit on each cast. Slice and Dice has a 16/14.5/13/11.5/10-second cooldown. This is Renekton's mobility and engage tool — the double dash allows him to close gaps, chase enemies, or escape ganks, and the empowered recast's armor shred makes follow-up damage from Renekton and his team significantly more effective.

Dominus (R) causes Renekton to surround himself with dark energies for 15 seconds, instantly gaining 300/500/700 bonus maximum health, 20 Fury, increased size by 20%, and 25 bonus attack range. While active, Renekton deals 30/75/120 (+5% bonus AD)(+5% AP) magic damage every 0.5 seconds to all nearby enemies and generates 5 Fury per second (up to 75 additional Fury over the duration). Dominus has a 120/100/80-second cooldown. This is Renekton's ultimate teamfight tool — the massive bonus health makes him extremely tanky during all-ins, the sustained AoE magic damage forces enemies to either fight a stat-boosted Renekton or run, and the constant fury generation ensures he has empowered abilities available throughout extended fights.

Strengths

  • Renekton's fury system gives him some of the strongest level 1-3 trades in the game — empowered Ruthless Predator's 1.5-second stun into Cull the Meek deals massive burst damage while the point-and-click nature of W means the trade is guaranteed — At level 2 with 50 Fury, Renekton can Slice into range, empowered W stun for 1.5 seconds, Q for damage and healing, then Dice out before the enemy can respond, dealing 40-50% of most top laners' health bars in a single trade rotation
  • Cull the Meek's built-in healing on a 7-second cooldown gives Renekton exceptional lane sustain that scales with bonus AD — empowered Q heals for up to 132 (+51% bonus AD) per champion hit with a 600 HP cap, making Renekton nearly impossible to poke out of lane — Against ranged poke or short-trade champions, Renekton can simply farm with Q and heal back any chip damage, and in all-in fights the empowered Q healing combined with Dominus's bonus health creates deceptive tankiness
  • Slice and Dice provides two dashes on a single cooldown, giving Renekton exceptional mobility for a bruiser — the double dash enables engage through minion waves, escape from ganks by dashing over walls, and the empowered recast's 25-35% armor shred amplifies all physical damage against the target — Renekton can Slice forward through the wave to gap-close, trade with W-Q, then Dice back to safety or forward to chase, making him one of the few bruisers who can trade aggressively while maintaining an escape route
  • Dominus transforms Renekton into a frontline juggernaut for 15 seconds with 300/500/700 bonus health, constant AoE magic damage, and fury generation that fuels empowered abilities throughout the fight — At level 6, popping Dominus gives Renekton an effective 300 bonus HP plus sustained magic damage that forces enemies to either all-in a stat-boosted Renekton or concede the trade entirely, and the fury generation ensures he always has an empowered W stun or Q heal available during extended fights

Weaknesses

  • Renekton falls off significantly in the late game compared to scaling bruisers like Jax, Nasus, or Camille — his abilities have strong base damage but moderate scaling, and without a lead from the early game his teamfight contribution diminishes as enemies build armor and outscale his damage — If Renekton does not convert his early-game dominance into a meaningful gold and experience lead, he becomes a mediocre frontliner whose stun and armor shred are useful but whose damage no longer threatens carries
  • Renekton's fury management creates windows of vulnerability — without 50 Fury, his abilities deal significantly less damage and lack their enhanced effects (no shield break on W, no armor shred on E, reduced Q healing), meaning he can be punished when trading with low fury — Experienced opponents know to track Renekton's fury bar and engage when it is below 50, forcing trades where Renekton lacks his empowered burst and sustain
  • Renekton is heavily countered by champions who can kite him or out-sustain his burst trades — ranged top laners like Teemo and Vayne can harass him from outside his dash range, while sustain tanks like Singed and Illaoi out-trade him in extended fights where his burst combo is on cooldown — Renekton's trading pattern is built around short, explosive combos followed by cooldown windows, and champions who survive the initial burst and fight during his cooldowns expose his limited sustained damage
  • Slice and Dice has a long 16-second cooldown at rank 1, meaning Renekton is extremely vulnerable to ganks after using E aggressively — if he dashes forward to trade, he has no escape for 16 seconds, making him one of the easiest top laners to gank when his E is on cooldown — Smart junglers track Renekton's E cooldown and gank immediately after he uses it aggressively, catching him overextended without his primary escape tool

Recommended Runes

Top Lane — Conqueror (Precision)

The recommended rune page for Renekton top is Conqueror, the dominant keystone with the highest pick rate (74.5% on OP.GG, 50.08% win rate) and strong synergy with Renekton's extended trading pattern. Conqueror stacks adaptive force as Renekton lands abilities and auto-attacks, and at full stacks provides bonus AD and omnivamp healing — perfectly suited for a bruiser who wants to all-in and sustain through fights.

  • Conqueror — Grants stacking adaptive force per ability hit and auto-attack against enemy champions, with omnivamp healing at maximum stacks. Conqueror is the optimal keystone for Renekton because his trading combo (E in, W stun, Q, auto-attacks, E out or continue) rapidly stacks Conqueror, and his empowered W counts as multiple strikes that stack it even faster. At full stacks, the bonus AD amplifies all of Renekton's abilities while the omnivamp healing stacks with Cull the Meek's built-in sustain, making him nearly unkillable in extended all-in fights. Conqueror has a 74.5% pick rate with 50.08% win rate on OP.GG.
  • Triumph — Restores health and grants bonus gold on champion takedowns. Triumph synergizes with Renekton's dive-heavy playstyle — after killing an enemy in a tower dive or teamfight, the burst heal from Triumph can save Renekton from dying to tower shots or follow-up damage. Combined with Cull the Meek's healing and Dominus's bonus health, Triumph provides yet another layer of in-fight sustain. Triumph has a 96.4% pick rate.
  • Legend: Alacrity — Grants stacking bonus attack speed for each champion takedown. Attack speed helps Renekton build fury faster through auto-attacks and makes his trading combos smoother — more auto-attacks between abilities means more fury generated and more on-hit procs from Ruthless Predator. Legend: Alacrity has an 80.6% pick rate.
  • Last Stand — Increases damage dealt based on missing health, with maximum bonus at low health. Last Stand is the ideal choice for Renekton because he generates 50% bonus fury below 50% health via Reign of Anger, meaning his most dangerous state — low health with empowered abilities — also triggers maximum Last Stand damage. A low-health Renekton with empowered Q's massive healing combined with Last Stand's damage increase creates lethal comeback potential in fights. Last Stand has a 94.9% pick rate.

Secondary — Resolve

  • Bone Plating — Reduces damage from the next 3 instances of champion damage after taking damage from an enemy champion. Bone Plating is essential for Renekton's laning phase because it absorbs a significant portion of enemy trade damage during the window after the first hit — since Renekton initiates trades by dashing in, Bone Plating activates immediately and reduces the counter-trade damage from the enemy laner.
  • Unflinching — Grants bonus tenacity and slow resistance based on missing health. Unflinching scales with Renekton's low-health power spike — when below 50% health with bonus fury generation from Reign of Anger and bonus damage from Last Stand, Unflinching ensures crowd control does not prevent Renekton from landing his empowered combo and healing back with Cull the Meek.

Stat Shards

  • Attack Speed — Bonus attack speed helps Renekton auto-attack between abilities more fluidly during his trading combo and generates fury faster through basic attacks. Attack speed is the standard offensive shard for melee bruisers who weave auto-attacks between abilities.
  • Adaptive Force — Bonus AD increases the damage of all of Renekton's abilities since every ability scales with bonus AD or total AD. Adaptive Force provides the most consistent damage increase for Renekton's trading pattern.
  • Health Scaling — Bonus health that scales with level improves Renekton's durability in the mid and late game, complementing Dominus's bonus health to make him a formidable frontliner.

Alternative Keystone — Press the Attack

Press the Attack is a viable alternative keystone with a 50.92% win rate on LoLalytics across 38,342 games. Press the Attack triggers after three consecutive auto-attacks on the same target, dealing bonus damage and exposing the target to amplified damage from all sources. Since Ruthless Predator counts as two (or three when empowered) auto-attacks, Renekton can proc Press the Attack nearly instantly — auto-attack into empowered W procs PTA in a single animation, then the damage amplification boosts the follow-up Q and E damage. PTA is better for short, explosive trades where Renekton does not plan to fight long enough to fully stack Conqueror.

Recommended Item Build

Based on data from ranked Renekton matches tracked across multiple stat sites on Patch 16.6, here are the highest winrate build paths.

Top Lane Build

#### Early Game (0-10 min)

  • Doran's Blade — The standard starting item for Renekton that provides attack damage, health, and omnivamp. Doran's Blade is the universal choice because it amplifies Renekton's already strong early trades with bonus AD and provides sustain through omnivamp that stacks with Cull the Meek's healing. The bonus health makes Renekton more durable in level 1-3 all-ins. Doran's Blade start has a 51.55% win rate on LoLalytics.
  • Health Potion — A single Health Potion provides additional sustain to cover the window before Renekton's Cull the Meek healing becomes strong enough to sustain him through laning phase.

#### Core Build (10-20 min)

  • Eclipse — Renekton's primary first item, Eclipse grants attack damage, lethality, and a passive that deals bonus damage and grants a shield when hitting a champion with two separate attacks or abilities within a short window. Eclipse is the optimal mythic for Renekton because his standard E-W-Q combo triggers the passive nearly instantly, granting a shield for the trade and bonus percent-health damage that amplifies his burst. The lethality also helps Renekton's abilities cut through armor in the mid game. Eclipse is the core of Renekton's highest win rate build path.
  • Plated Steelcaps — Grants armor and reduces incoming basic attack damage. Plated Steelcaps are the standard boot choice with a 68.08% pick rate and 50.84% win rate on OP.GG. Since Renekton lanes against auto-attack-heavy bruisers and fighters in the top lane, the basic attack damage reduction is extremely valuable. The armor also synergizes with Dominus's bonus health to make Renekton significantly tankier in all-ins.
  • Black Cleaver — Grants attack damage, health, and ability haste with a passive that stacks armor reduction on enemies hit by physical damage. Black Cleaver is essential for Renekton because his multi-hit abilities (Q hitting all nearby enemies, W striking twice or thrice, E hitting on each dash) stack Black Cleaver extremely quickly. Combined with empowered E's armor shred, Renekton can reduce an enemy's armor by over 50%, amplifying damage for his entire team. Eclipse into Black Cleaver is the highest win rate two-item core with a 57.02% win rate on OP.GG.

#### Late Game (25+ min)

  • Sterak's Gage — Grants attack damage and health with a passive shield that triggers when taking a large burst of damage. Sterak's Gage has a 57-58% win rate as a third or fourth item on OP.GG. The lifeline shield is critical for Renekton's teamfight role as a diver — when he Slices into the enemy backline and pops Dominus, the Sterak's shield provides an additional layer of survivability that keeps him alive long enough to land his full combo and heal with empowered Q.
  • Death's Dance — Grants attack damage, armor, and ability haste with a passive that converts a portion of damage taken into a damage-over-time bleed, and heals for a percentage of maximum health on champion takedowns. Death's Dance has a 57-58% win rate as a late-game item. The damage conversion bleed smooths out burst damage, giving Renekton more time to heal with Cull the Meek, and the takedown heal synergizes with his dive-and-kill playstyle.
  • Spear of Shojin — Grants attack damage, health, and ability haste with a passive that amplifies ability damage after using abilities in sequence. Spear of Shojin synergizes with Renekton's combo-heavy playstyle — casting E, W, and Q in sequence ramps up Spear's damage amplification, making his full rotation deal significantly more damage. Eclipse into Spear of Shojin into Death's Dance has a 58.33% win rate on OP.GG.
  • Guardian Angel — Grants attack damage and armor with a passive that revives the champion upon death with partial health. Guardian Angel is a strong late-game option for Renekton when he needs to dive enemy carries in teamfights — the revive passive means he can commit fully to a dive without fear of dying, buying time for his team to follow up.
  • Maw of Malmortius — Grants attack damage, magic resistance, and ability haste with a lifeline shield that triggers when taking magic damage that would reduce health below a threshold. Against AP-heavy enemy compositions, Maw replaces Sterak's Gage as the lifeline item, providing magic resistance and a magic damage shield.

Ability Priority

Top Lane: Q > E > W (R at 6, 11, 16)

  1. Cull the Meek (Q) — Max first. Each rank increases the damage from 60 to 180 (+100% bonus AD) and the healing per champion from 12 to 44 (+17% bonus AD), with the healing cap increasing from 50 to 150 (empowered cap from 200 to 600). Maxing Q first provides the most consistent trading and sustain value because the 7-second cooldown is the same at all ranks — every Q during a trade deals more damage and heals more, making Renekton's laning phase progressively stronger with each point. Q max has a 55.99% pick rate with 52.99% win rate on OP.GG.
  2. Slice and Dice (E) — Max second. Each rank increases the first cast damage from 40 to 160 and reduces the cooldown from 16 to 10 seconds. The cooldown reduction is critical — at rank 5, Slice and Dice's 10-second cooldown means Renekton can trade or escape significantly more often compared to the 16-second cooldown at rank 1. The empowered recast's armor shred also increases from 25% to 35% per rank, amplifying physical damage from Renekton and his team.
  3. Ruthless Predator (W) — Max last. Each rank increases damage from 10 to 130 total, but the stun duration remains 0.75 seconds (1.5 empowered) at all ranks. The cooldown reduction from 16 to 8 seconds is valuable, but W's primary value — the point-and-click stun and shield destruction — does not scale with rank. The damage increase per rank is the lowest of Renekton's abilities.
  4. Dominus (R) — Level at 6, 11, and 16. Each rank increases bonus health from 300 to 700, AoE damage per tick from 30 to 120, and reduces the cooldown from 120 to 80 seconds. Level 6 is Renekton's biggest power spike because Dominus transforms his all-in potential — the 300 bonus health and sustained magic damage make him significantly stronger than opponents who do not have their ultimate yet.

Summoner Spells

  • Flash — Flash is the essential summoner spell for Renekton. Flash extends the range of Renekton's engage — Flash into empowered W stun catches enemies who thought they were safe outside Slice and Dice range. Flash also provides an emergency escape when Renekton has used E aggressively and has no dash available. Flash-W is one of the most reliable point-and-click engages in the game.
  • Ignite — Ignite is the most popular secondary summoner spell for Renekton top with an 80.37% pick rate on OP.GG and 50.15% win rate. Ignite adds kill pressure to Renekton's already strong all-in combo — the additional true damage and Grievous Wounds healing reduction complement his burst-heavy playstyle. At levels 2-3, Renekton with Ignite has some of the highest solo kill potential in the top lane.
  • Teleport — Teleport is an alternative with a 17.75% pick rate and 48.48% win rate on OP.GG. Teleport is better suited for games where Renekton needs to influence other lanes or secure dragon fights. However, taking Teleport reduces Renekton's lane kill pressure, which can allow scaling champions to survive the early game without being punished.

Playstyle Tips

Early Game / Laning Phase (0-14 min)

Renekton's early game is about building fury through auto-attacks and minion wave management, then unleashing devastating empowered combo trades that chunk enemies to half health or lower while healing back any damage taken with Cull the Meek.

Start Cull the Meek (Q) at level 1 for trading and sustain — auto-attack minions to build fury, then Q through the wave and the enemy champion simultaneously to deal damage, heal, and push the wave. Take Ruthless Predator (W) or Slice and Dice (E) at level 2 depending on the matchup — W for guaranteed short trades against melee opponents, E for mobility against ranged champions or to escape early ganks. Take the remaining ability at level 3 for your full combo.

Your standard trading pattern at 50+ fury is: E (Slice) through the minion wave onto the enemy, empowered W (1.5-second stun, shield break), Q (damage and healing), then E (Dice) back to safety. This combo deals 40-50% of most top laners' health in a single rotation while healing Renekton through Cull the Meek, and the double dash ensures a safe escape. The entire combo takes approximately 2 seconds and is virtually impossible to outplay because Ruthless Predator is point-and-click.

Manage your fury carefully — do not waste empowered abilities on minion waves when you could use them to trade. Build fury to 50 through auto-attacks and Q on minions, then look for the all-in window. When below 50% health, Reign of Anger's 50% bonus fury generation means you build empowered abilities much faster, creating dangerous comeback potential that opponents often underestimate.

At level 6, Renekton's all-in power spikes dramatically. Pop Dominus at the start of an all-in fight for the 300 bonus health, sustained AoE damage, and fury generation — the constant fury income from Dominus ensures you always have empowered abilities available during the fight. Flash-W into Dominus at level 6 with Ignite is a near-guaranteed solo kill against most top laners.

Mid Game & Teamfighting (14-25 min)

Mid-game Renekton with Eclipse, Plated Steelcaps, and Black Cleaver is a powerful bruiser who looks to extend his early-game lead by split-pushing side lanes, diving enemy carries with Flash-W, and using Dominus to become a frontline threat that cannot be ignored in teamfights.

Renekton's mid-game priority is converting his laning phase lead into objective control and tower pressure. With Eclipse and Black Cleaver completed, Renekton deals significant damage while remaining durable enough to dive enemy carries in teamfights. Position on the flank or behind your frontline, then Slice through the enemy frontline to reach the backline, W stun the enemy ADC or mid laner, Q for damage and healing, and either Dice out or commit with Dominus depending on how the fight develops.

In side lanes, Renekton pushes waves extremely quickly with Q and threatens towers with his strong auto-attack damage and W auto-attack reset. His double dash with E makes him difficult to collapse on — if the enemy sends two champions to stop his split push, Renekton can often 1v2 with Dominus or Slice-Dice over a wall to escape.

Before major teamfights around Dragon or Baron, consider whether to flank or frontline. If Renekton has a lead, flanking the enemy backline with E-Flash-empowered W on the ADC can instantly remove the enemy's primary damage dealer. If Renekton is even or behind, frontlining with Dominus and using empowered Q for sustain while applying Black Cleaver armor shred to the enemy frontline is more effective.

Late Game (25+ min)

Late-game Renekton with Sterak's Gage and Death's Dance is a durable diver who excels at initiating fights by Flash-stunning priority targets, absorbing burst damage with Dominus, Sterak's shield, and Death's Dance bleed, then sustaining through the fight with Cull the Meek healing and Death's Dance takedown heal.

In the late game, Renekton's damage falls off compared to scaling champions, but his utility — point-and-click stun, armor shred, frontline tankiness — remains valuable. Focus on using empowered W to lock down the enemy's most dangerous champion for 1.5 seconds while your team collapses. The shield destruction on empowered W is particularly impactful against ADCs who build Shieldbow or champions with shield-granting supports.

Late-game objective fights around Baron and Elder Dragon are where Renekton's Dominus shines most — the 700 bonus health at rank 3 combined with Sterak's Gage shield and Death's Dance damage conversion makes Renekton extremely difficult to kill in sustained fights. Pop Dominus before the fight starts to maximize the 15-second duration, use empowered E to shred the enemy frontline's armor for your team, then switch to empowered W on any carry who steps into range.

Matchups

Top Lane

#### Favorable

  • Shyvana — Renekton wins approximately 62.26% against Shyvana top on LoLalytics. Shyvana lacks the burst or crowd control to contest Renekton's early trades — her primary damage comes from extended auto-attack fights where she can proc her passive, but Renekton's empowered W stun prevents her from auto-attacking during trades and his E mobility lets him disengage before she can retaliate. Pre-6, Shyvana has no ultimate to match Dominus's bonus stats, and post-6 Renekton can simply E away from Dragon Form's empowered abilities.
  • Akali — Renekton wins approximately 55.12% against Akali top on LoLalytics. Akali relies on hitting her Shuriken and using Twilight Shroud to avoid retaliation, but Renekton's empowered W is a point-and-click stun that targets Akali even through her shroud animations, and his burst combo (E-W-Q) deals enough damage to chunk her before she can escape with her dashes. Renekton's sustain from Q also heals back Akali's poke damage.
  • Yone — Renekton wins approximately 55.11% against Yone top on LoLalytics. Yone's trading pattern relies on Spirit Cleave and dashes that Renekton can interrupt or punish. When Yone uses E (Spirit Walk) to trade, Renekton can use empowered W to stun him during the dash-forward window, then combo him while he is locked in place. Yone's shield from W is destroyed by empowered Ruthless Predator, removing his primary defensive tool in trades.
  • Ambessa — Renekton wins approximately 55.07% against Ambessa top on LoLalytics across 2,664 games. Renekton's empowered W stun interrupts Ambessa's combo chains, and his Q sustain out-heals her poke damage. In all-in fights, Dominus's bonus health and sustained damage overwhelm Ambessa's relatively low durability.
  • Irelia — Renekton wins approximately 54.62% against Irelia top on LoLalytics across 1,527 games. Irelia needs to stack her passive through multiple dashes on low-health minions before she can all-in, but Renekton can use empowered W to stun and burst Irelia whenever she tries to dash in for a trade. Empowered W also destroys Irelia's Defiant Dance shield, removing her primary defensive ability.

#### Even

  • Garen — Renekton fights approximately even against Garen top. Garen's Courage damage reduction and passive healing make him difficult for Renekton to burst down, and Garen's Decisive Strike silence prevents Renekton from using abilities during trades. The matchup depends on whether Renekton can stun Garen before Courage activates and whether Garen can survive the early levels where Renekton's fury trades are strongest.
  • Darius — Renekton fights approximately even against Darius top. Both champions are early-game lane bullies with strong all-in potential. Darius's Hemorrhage bleed and Noxian Guillotine execute threaten Renekton in extended trades, but Renekton's empowered W stun and E mobility allow him to control the timing and length of trades. The matchup is won by whichever champion manages cooldowns better.
  • Mordekaiser — Renekton fights approximately even against Mordekaiser top. Mordekaiser's Realm of Death isolates Renekton, but Renekton's burst combo can chunk Mordekaiser before the death realm activates. Renekton needs to trade aggressively early before Mordekaiser completes Riftmaker and gains enough sustain to outlast Renekton's burst.

#### Unfavorable

  • Singed — Renekton loses approximately 57.12% against Singed top (Singed's win rate vs Renekton on LoLalytics). Singed's proxy farming and Fling disengage prevent Renekton from landing his standard trading combo. Singed does not fight Renekton directly — he runs through minion waves with Poison Trail, forcing Renekton to choose between chasing (and getting Flung away from his wave) or farming and conceding lane pressure. Renekton's E dashes cannot reliably catch a Singed who simply runs away.
  • Illaoi — Renekton loses approximately 55.73% against Illaoi top (Illaoi's win rate vs Renekton on LoLalytics). Illaoi's Tentacle Slam punishes Renekton for staying close during trades, and her ultimate Leap of Faith spawns additional tentacles that deal massive damage in the all-in window where Renekton normally dominates. If Illaoi lands Test of Spirit and pulls Renekton's soul, he must either fight in the tentacle zone or run and take the vessel debuff.
  • Kled — Renekton loses approximately 54.18% against Kled top (Kled's win rate vs Renekton on LoLalytics across 419 games). Kled's Skaarl dismount mechanic gives him an effective second health bar that Renekton's burst combo cannot fully deplete, and Kled's Bear Trap on a Rope pull into Violent Tendencies empowered auto-attacks outdamages Renekton in extended all-in fights. Kled's aggression also prevents Renekton from farming fury safely.
  • Warwick — Renekton loses approximately 54.05% against Warwick top (Warwick's win rate vs Renekton on LoLalytics across 222 games). Warwick's Primal Howl fear and Infinite Duress suppress interrupt Renekton's trading combo, and Warwick's passive healing from Eternal Hunger outsustains Cull the Meek's healing in extended trades. Warwick's damage reduction from Primal Howl absorbs Renekton's burst during the critical empowered W window.
  • Teemo — Renekton loses approximately 59.26% against Teemo top (Teemo's win rate vs Renekton on U.GG across 324 games). Teemo's Blinding Dart negates Ruthless Predator's auto-attack-based damage, and his ranged auto-attack harass zones Renekton off CS before he can build fury. Teemo's Move Quick movement speed makes it difficult for Renekton to close the gap with E, and mushroom traps slow his engage attempts.

Recent Patch Changes

Season 2025 — Dominus Buff

Renekton received one notable balance change during the 2025 season:

  • Patch 25.08 — Dominus (R) base damage per tick increased from 30/60/90 to 30/75/120. This buff significantly increased Renekton's mid and late-game ultimate damage output, making Dominus's sustained AoE damage more threatening in teamfights and all-in fights. At rank 3, the damage per tick increased by 33% (from 90 to 120), resulting in substantially more total damage over the 15-second duration.

Season 2026 — No Direct Champion Changes (Patches 26.1–26.6)

Renekton has received no direct balance changes throughout the 2026 season (Patches 26.1 through 26.6). His win rate has stabilized around 49-51% across all stat sites, reflecting a balanced but slightly below-average state. Item system changes in Season 2026 have shifted his build path, with Eclipse and Black Cleaver remaining his optimal core items, while Spear of Shojin has emerged as a strong third item option.

Historical Context — Previous Changes

Renekton's Cull the Meek (Q) healing was buffed in a prior patch, increasing the base champion heal from 12/18/24/30/36 to 12/20/28/36/44 and the empowered champion heal from 36/54/72/90/108 to 36/60/84/108/132. This healing buff improved Renekton's sustain in lane and made his empowered Q more impactful during fights.
